Need your comments...

We're flying out Wednesday around noon. I'm needing some ideas or your suggestions on flying with small children. I'm of course bringing snacks, books, paper pads & pencils...but if anyone can think of anything I haven't thought of please comment. I'm a little nervous about flying with 4 small kiddos but so thankful Josh was able to take off work to come with me. Sheri B. gave me a wonderful idea to keep the kids from making a mess with their snacks. String them on a piece of yarn and let them wear it for a necklace. You obviously have to use things with holes in the middle (fruit loops, cheerios, cheez-its have a hole don't they?). I thought that was clever and gets them excited about the plane ride as they "string together" they're own snack necklace. Also, comment on how we can make the whole process of checking in bags, going through security as simple as possible. Pray for no complications. Thanks friends! (Please pray for our safety...okay, I'm just a tiny bit nervous...no...a lot nervous. Planes just don't feel "safe" to me.)

I flew out to Washington (from New York) with my 3 little ones by myself...I will pray diligently for you! Be sure to all wear slip on shoes and no coats if at all possible. You have to take shoes and coats (even sweatshirts) off and this makes it quite difficult with little people. A lot of times you will be able to go through the handicapped line at security, though, since they don't want you holding up the regular lines. Keep in mind that any strollers you take also have to be folded up and put through the security belt. The only other suggestion I have for ON the plane is to take NEW things...that way it keeps the kids' attention span longer than things they're used to playing with at home. Gum is great for keeping their ears from hurting because of the change in pressure as well. We'll be praying for you all!

THey will also let you check a stroller at the plane gate so you can use it while going through the wirport but you do have to scan in at the security check point......hmm books and their fave stuffed animal to comfort them..they can each pack a their own little backpack with their things in them. Well we will be praying for a safe trip....have a great time.

Leave very early!! It will take time to get through security. Sometimes they will allow people with small children to go to the front of the line. This is only sometimes, because I have experienced both being allowed and not being allowed! A backpack with new things is a very good idea, I also love magna doodles for mess free drawing fun! I'll pray for you, this can be very stressful!
